I paint using acrylics and canvas and recently began working with clay, constructing utilitarian pieces that can be used in daily life. In keeping with the utilitarian theme, I'm excited to be making my first floor cloth, a hand painted floor covering made of heavy canvas.
Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh, the people that I love and the different places I have visited influence me. From the simplicity of a small, brightly painted town in Guatemala, to the decorative wrought iron found in New Orleans, I have always enjoyed regional architecture. Some favorite locations are New Orleans, Montreal and a recently discovered Spanish castle in Huntington Beach, South Carolina.
The ocean at Myrtle Beach and Eighth Lake in the Adirondacks are two other locations that i enjoy.
